For a number of months we have been in prayer as Elders concerning a new role on our pastoral staff. It’s a role that we’ve seen eventually developing for a couple of years now, but the spike in our growth over the last 6 months make this role a “now” thing, rather than a “someday” thing.
We are very excited to announce that a man by the name of Brent Kimball will be joining the LifePoint pastoral team in about a month, serving in the role of Executive Pastor.
Brent has been married to Jessie for 22 years, and they have 3 children: Jared (16), Titus (11), and Sophia (8). He brings a wealth of experience to the LifePoint team, as he has served with Jessie in ministry together for nearly 20 years. They have also both started and operated their own small businesses; Brent served as a registered investment advisor and Jessie as an interior designer.
In terms of their years in ministry, Brent was a youth pastor for a time, has served as a senior associate, and also brings around a dozen years of Lead Pastor experience, having served in that role in two different contexts. Most recently, Brent has been the Lead Pastor at Inspire Church of Skagit Valley.
I first met Brent a couple of years ago through a year-long leadership journey that we took together with the Northwest Ministry Network. I quickly came to see that this was a guy who was very like-minded, but also possessed a skill-set that I felt would be a great complement to me. The role of Executive Pastor at LifePoint will have Brent serving as a team leader along with myself and the other Elders, overseeing and leading in a number of key areas. Fulfilling this role will allow the Lead Pastor role to transform into a focus on preaching, vision, key leader development and community involvement, as the Executive Pastor will oversee the management, empowerment, and deployment of the resources (people, dollars, etc.) that God has given LifePoint.
The Kimball family will be moving to Vancouver in July, and Brent will begin on staff July 15th. Pray for their transition, Inspire Church, and for God’s grace to continue to guide them and us as we celebrate this wonderful addition to our church family.
